Adjustment of contact lenses

The fitting of contact lenses should always be done by a specialist, e.g. by an ophthalmologist or optician. Self-adjustment is not advisable, as contact lenses with the wrong size or curvature can permanently damage the cornea. During the adjustment, different lenses are tried out until the right one is found that is not perceived as annoying. Attention is paid to the correct diameter and the correct curvature (BC value), with these values the individually suitable lenses can be reordered again and again later.

Contact lens wearers are strongly advised to have regular follow-up checks in order to identify and treat an incipient infection or damage to the cornea at an early stage.
