Homeopathy for glandular fever

Homeopathic remedies are suitable for symptomatic treatment.

Pfeiffer's glandular fever is a viral infection (Epstein-Barr virus), also known as the "kissing disease", which mainly affects children and adolescents between the ages of 15 and 19. The disease is transmitted through infectious saliva. Absolute physical rest is necessary as therapy.

Symptoms can be alleviated with homeopathic remedies, primarily the often extreme sore throat with swelling and reddening of the mucous membranes and restlessness caused by a fever.

Febrile drugs

Aconite

(Prescription up to and including D3)

  • Suddenly onset of fever with great fear to panic, restlessness and violent thirst. Fast, hard pulse.
  • The patients feel very sick.
  • Face is red when lying down, skin hot and dry, white when sitting up.
  • All complaints are worse in the evening and at night.

In the acute state: You solve 1 tablet or 5 globules in 1 cup of water and give a teaspoon (no metal) of it every 5 minutes, extend the break to ½ to 2 hour, then it's over.

Belladonna

(Prescription up to and including D3)

  • Sudden onset, red, sweaty skin.
  • Red mean, mucous membranes in the throat bright red, dry.
  • fear and panic not quite as pronounced as with aconite.
  • Aggravated by cold, excitement, cold drafts and at night.

In the acute state: You solve 1 tablet or 5 globules in 1 cup of water and give a teaspoon (no metal) of it every 5 minutes, extend the break to ½ to 2 hour, then it's over.

Ferrum phosphoricum

  • The beginning of the fever is not quite as stormy as with Aconitum and Belladonna.
  • It lack of fear, restlessness and panic.
  • Red face, cold all over, cold feet. Pulse fast, soft and suppressible.
  • Aggravated at rest, relieved by a little exercise.

Remedy for inflammation and swelling

Belladonna (see febrile drugs)

Phytolacca

  • The throat is dark red, swollen and the stabbing pain radiates to the Ears out.
  • Often the right side hurts more.
  • The patient complains of bruised feeling in all limbs and strong fatigue.
  • The need to move does not improve the symptoms.

Apis

  • Burning, stinging, reddening, severe swelling and heat dominate the symptoms on the pharynx.
  • Great unrest, little thirst, sharp pains, extreme intolerance to warmth, aggravation in the afternoon, improvement from cold and in the fresh air.
  • The neck is very sensitive and everything that restricts it (scarf) is perceived as uncomfortable.

Potassium chloratum

  • A remedy for soft Lymph node swelling and strep throat.
  • Especially when there is a white-gray coating specifically on the Tongue root or pointing on the mucous membranes.
  • Warmth relieves the symptoms.
  • Aggravated by exercise and spicy, fatty foods.

1 tablet each 3 times a day is a common dosage.
