Voltaren dolo® (extra) are coated tablets that are available in a dosage of 25 mg or 12.5 mg. In addition to the active ingredient diclofenac, which is present in this preparation in its salt form diclofenac potassium, these tablets also contain various auxiliary substances such as:

  • Cellulose
  • Sucrose
  • Cornstarch
  • Magnesium stearate
  • Macrogol and
  • Tricalcium phosphate

and also contain the colorants iron (III) oxide and titanium dioxide.
Voltaren dolo® is pharmacy-only, but not prescription-only. It is suitable for adults and young people from 14 years of age.

Unless otherwise expressly recommended by a doctor, the tablets are taken with the 25 mg dosage as needed about every four to six hours, but no more than three times a day, so that a maximum amount of 75 mg diclofenac is not exceeded.

Voltaren dolo® extra

According to the manufacturer, the commercial preparation Voltaren dolo® extra should have a long-lasting effect on mild to moderately severe pain. The effect lasts for about 6 hours. It is intended for the short-term treatment of acute pain. For example, it can be used for mild to moderate headaches, muscle, back or neck pain. It should normally not be taken for more than 4 days at a time.

Voltaren dolo® should always be taken according to the instructions and agreements with the attending physician. If you are unsure about the dosage, you should not hesitate to ask your doctor. In principle, the lowest possible dosage should be selected that is necessary to alleviate the symptoms. The duration of use should be as long as necessary, but as short as possible. Unless otherwise directed by your doctor, adults and adolescents aged 15 years and over should take one tablet of the prescribed strength (25 or 50 mg). As a rule, a daily dose of 75 mg per day should not be exceeded.
Voltaren dolo® should only be taken for a short time if possible. Without medical treatment and supervision, the duration of use should be a maximum of 4 days. If the symptoms do not decrease or worsen, a doctor should definitely be consulted. If a larger amount is accidentally ingested, various symptoms can arise. In the event of an overdose and uncertainty, a doctor should be consulted immediately. If a dose is missed, under no circumstances should a double dose be taken. 25mg / 50mg dosage

Voltaren dolo® is available in doses of 12.5 and 25 mg. Voltaren® is available in a 50 mg dosage. Depending on the symptoms, the appropriate dosage should be selected or discussed with the doctor. The two preparations with the lower dosage form are indicated for fever and moderate to severe pain of various kinds. The 50 mg dosage is indicated for comparably more severe pain. This preparation is often used as part of a therapy for rheumatoid arthritis.

Maximum dose

With Voltaren dolo® the maximum dose of 75 mg should not be exceeded. For Voltaren®50 mg, the maximum daily dose is 150 mg. This information relates to adults and young people aged 15 and over. For some people the maximum dose may be lower. The smallest possible amount should always be taken. The higher the dose of Voltaren dolo®, the greater the risk of side effects.

Voltaren Dolo® for toothache

Side effects
